dANNY bROWN
Danny, or “Poppy” as he is affectionately known by family, friends and neighbors, is the epitome of a godly man. He is the cornerstone of Shepherd’s Voice as well as his family.Danny was originally from High Point, NC but at a young age moved to Durham where his family became fully and actively involved in Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He began singing at a very early age and was quickly recognized as possessing a natural talent with a love for traditional gospel music. In his teens he joined Heritage Trio and has sang as a solo, a duet with wife Jane and a trio with daughter Sana joining her parents, a group ensemble called Carpenter’s Trade, as well as the church choir. Besides his singing talents, Danny is a grill master, cooking everything from steaks, turkey and chicken, to fruit cobblers on a grill. He has also earned the title of “Mr. Fix It” to all who know him. His expertise in repairing anything from a leaky faucet to a skinned knee, have him on speed dial for many friends and family.Danny’s musical range and direction are the skills he brings to Shepherd’s Voice, but most valued is his unwavering faith, fatherly guidance and prayerful support.
jANE BROWN
Jane grew up at Mills Home, the flagship campus of the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC. She is still active in the Alumni association of Mills Home where she has served as a council member. Every year she, Danny and Sana prepare meals to serve at the annual Homecoming of alumni to raise money for various projects at Mills Home. At Mills Home, Jane began to develop her love of gospel music by singing in the choir and the Touring Choir, visiting churches across North Carolina.
While living in Durham, NC she was in the church choir and a vocal group called Carpenter’s Trade. She and Danny sang at weddings, the annual Durham Christmas Pageant and various church functions. After moving to High Point, NC, she and Danny joined Oak View Baptist Church where they are also members of the choir. Jane loves to cook for friends and family and her “country cooking” skills are widely known and praised. Quite often she and Danny are asked to cater weddings, business functions, and church gatherings. She loves the beach and says she is the most aware of God’s mighty power when she sees the ocean. Jane is very family oriented, loves having her children and grandchildren, gather at her table for Sunday lunch, but her biggest joy is being “Nana” to her 7 grandchildren.To Shepherd’s Voice she brings the harmony of her beautiful alto voice and the stability of a mother always supporting her family in song and love.
sana myers
Sana resides in Winston Salem, North Carolina, with daughters; Ally, Falen and Raelynn and sons, Alex, Austin, Christopher and Dawson. Sana’s passion is serving the youth in her sphere of influence; she has a beautiful testimony that touches teens and adults alike.
In the past she was a member of the gospel group, Called to Praise. She and Josh were married in 2020 and combined their family and continuously seek God’s guidance in teaching their children in the ways of God. Sana has followed in her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps in the kitchen, but enjoys the baking side of culinary arts. Her pound cake is always the first dessert to disappear at family dinners.
Currently she is a stay-at-home mom to her children. Sana’s clear angelic soprano voice lends strength to the group and her natural talent for harmonizing, allows Shepherd’s Voice to sing from various musical genre.
